Specialist training program in the field of public procurement January 26th to January 30th 2015

From January 26th to January 30th 2015, partners in our law firm, Andrej Šooš Maceljski and Ivana Miloš attended specialist training program in the field of public procurement.

The training in the field of public procurement is conducted in accordance with the Regulation on education in the field of public procurement (Official Gazette numbers 06/2012 and 125/14) which stipulates that the aim of the training in the field of public procurement is to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities of the various participants involved in the public procurement system, for the effective implementation of public procurement procedures at all levels.

The lectures discussed the legal and institutional framework of the public procurement system in the Republic of Croatia and the European Union, the principles of public procurement, ethics in public procurement, the prevention of corruption in public procurement, various public procurement procedures, the preparation of bids and the composition of the tender documents, and many other essential elements of public procurement.

Through lectures given by experienced experts we became familiar with typical mistakes that public principals do when composing their offers, and also with defects of contracting authorities in drafting tender documentation. The lectures were followed by useful examples from everyday practice.
